Using the website

You do not need an account to read this guide. The supplied website code does not include analytics, advertising trackers, social media embeds or third-party fonts. Images and application files are requested from the website itself.

Website delivery can involve technical information such as an IP address, requested page, browser information and request time being processed by hosting infrastructure. Such processing supports delivery, security and fault investigation, on the basis of legitimate interests in maintaining a safe, functioning website. This notice does not imply that technical delivery is anonymous.

The contact draft tool

The Contact page builds a draft inside your browser. Its code does not transmit the values you enter, place them in localStorage or submit them to a server. Your browser may independently offer autofill or restore form contents according to your own settings.

Copy message writes the draft to your clipboard after you request it. Download message creates a plain-text file on your device. You are responsible for the copied text and downloaded file, including removing them from shared devices. Nothing is emailed until you use your own email service.

If you email us

We receive the address, name, message and any attachments you choose to send, together with ordinary email metadata. We use this information to respond, consider corrections and maintain relevant correspondence. Our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and managing the guide are the usual legal basis. Legal obligations may apply to particular records.

Do not send payment information, identity documents, health details or other unnecessary sensitive information. We keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, related editorial records, legal obligations or a dispute. You may ask us about the retention of a specific message.

Browser storage

If you choose a storage preference on the Cookies page, a small localStorage record remembers that choice in your browser. It does not contain your contact draft. The preference remains until changed or cleared, subject to browser settings. See Choosing cookies for the key, values and controls.

Service providers and disclosure

Hosting and email providers may process information as necessary to deliver their services. We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to address security incidents, legal claims or misuse.

If a service arrangement requires personal information to be transferred outside the European Economic Area, applicable data protection requirements must be met, including appropriate safeguards where required. Contact us for information relevant to your specific enquiry.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Contact us using the address above. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. You may also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority.

External links and changes

External websites and your email provider have their own privacy practices. Following a link takes you outside this website. We may update this notice when the website or its processing changes; the current version will be published here.
